As I have mentioned before, I love music. Mr. Yell and I love traveling to concerts, no matter how far they are! We have records, digital copies, and many (MANY!) CDs. I have written a few posts about my favorite artists and figured it was time to share some of that music with you!
This month I took the time to create a playlist of songs I have been enjoying this season. Since it’s February I figured it was time to add a bit of pizazz to the cold weather! These are some songs that Mr. Yell and I enjoy while reading, working, or just drinking a cup of coffee in this winter weather.
Please enjoy this first edition of the “Cozy Coffee Playlist”!
Friends, I love music. I love singing in choirs, musicals, in my car…
I love it.
Music has always been a way for me to express my emotions to others, or even to myself. Which is why I am pretty excited to start this new type of post about sharing the music I love with “Music Love“. The music I will share on these types of posts will be new music I have discovered, music that has defined my life, or just fun songs that I feel are encouraging or have a positive energy.
To kick things off, I want to start with an artist that I have come to love over the past three years through Mr. Yell.
Josh Garrels is not super well known, but is absolutely worth listening to because his lyrics are amazing and his arrangements are so peaceful. Garrels’ music makes me feel like an old friend has taken my thoughts and created beautiful music with them.
His music is soothing, fun, and just a whole lot of love comes through his music. Mr. Yell and I actually had our first dance to his song “Heaven’s Knife”; which we actually were able to hear him play at his concert in Houston.
While I admit, I was very apprehensive at first, since his music was different than the style I enjoyed at the time. But I have now come to call him one of my favorite artists. His songs are soft, sweet, and full of heart and emotions. I love his music because they have special meanings in different parts of life.
This week I am giving a little love to some inspirational people, blogs, and other things I have been seeing recently!
This blog post was so inspirational to me. It is a blog run by Alex and Brett Harris, two brothers who are the co-authors of The Rebelution.
This article in particular, written by Luke LeFevre, describes the important differences between passions and purpose, and why those differences matter. This blog is full of inspirational blogs, videos, and books directed at pre-teens and teens, but is honestly wonderful for anyone of any age.
This is a new blog just started in the last few months by Florida dwelling Kirstin Czernek.
She is a nutritionist and health enthusiast, but also blogs about her personal life at times. She has an inspirational story about overcoming an eating disorder and how that has helped her build her new company, The Balance Culture, in Florida. Check out her new company, blog, and Instagram @thebalanceculture
Moriah Peters friends… she can get it.
Her new album is quite bold and electrifying, and I love it. While her first album was more sweet and subdued, her second is far from it. Still the sweet spirited woman, but more fierce and BRAVE. Check out her Instagram @moriahpeters and her blog listing tour dates, merch, and cool stories people have shared with her.
